Overview
Festival del Cafe Dominicano (Dominican coffee festival), is a festival held in the Dominican Republic once a year around August that celebrates the culture of Dominican coffee.
In this rebranding, I really wanted to dig into a bit more of the true meaning of coffee culture in the Dominican Rep. Growing up in that community, coffee means a lot more than just a little "pick me up". Coffee in the Dominican means family, community, unity, and a feeling of home.
Process
I wanted to recreate this branding to have more of that "at home" nostalgic feeling a lot of dominicans feels when drinking coffee. To do that I researched what you would find in a traditional Dominican home. I decided to go with the various frame collections that is really popular to have in a Dominican home. Some of those frames you often find are a picture of the Virgin Mary, a family painted portrait, carnaval masquerades, and other traditional paintings.
